Transforming Facade of Shipping Pallets
French architect Stephane Malka comes up with many eco friendly design ideas that involve salvaging and reusing materials already in existence. His most recent project proposal, AME-LOT, is for student housing in France repurposed with common used materials none other than that of shipping pallets.
This overall design concept is going to cover the whole outward facing area of student dorms in Paris. These pallets will be adjustable and moveable for the students to create a comfortable environment for themselves in terms of ventilation, shade, and easy movement.
In the center of the pallet will be metal brackets enabling the ease of pushing and pulling to help make the right adjustments. Not only is this project a visual wonder but it will also save energy and money if completed in any other typical fashion.
With this project no building is destroyed and there will be no pollution generated. This is one of the more eco friendly imaginative projects brought to life with shipping pallets.
